We are just in the second part of 2011 and the first new 2012 windsurfing sails are hitting the market. North Sails released the new wave sail range for 2012. Besides familiar models, like the Ice and Duke, they also released two new ones. The new wave sails are called the Hero and ID Ultralight. Check out the introduction videos below:

Word is going around that Karin Jaggi is looking for a new sponsor. MauiSails and Severne Sails are two brands mentioned as possible sponsor. Barry Spanier confirmed on the MauiSails forum that they are not  planning to hire Karin Jaggi and it are definite rumors. Who will sponsor Karin Jaggi is uncertain, but she will leave North Sails behind.

Gonzo (11h on the PWA Slalom 2008) probably will be on the MauiSails team.

Peter Volwater has MauiSails as his new sail sponsor. North Sails was his former employee. Dennis Littel and Josh Angulo have shown that you can go fast with the MauiSails TR-4 , see also MauiSails on track!. Peter Volwater announced his transfer on his own blog. This is what he said.

Today it’s official I am joining Maui Sails and its a special celebration for the company Maui Sails – with 30 years of sail making! Congratulations to the crew and thanks for this great opportunity!
With Barry I got a chance to try the new TR5 racing machines and was impressed with the speed and stability. Look forward to working together with the team and now I’m off to Perth Western Australia…

I spotted the new North Sails Warp F2009 on a french site. The Warp has a beautiful design and there is probably nothing wrong with the performance of this sail.

The top brands in the industry are all producing high quality windsurfing sails and there are almost no sails that are a waste of your money. It all depends on your personal preferences and budget. You can check here all the pictures. Windsurfonline.fr has also posted a short movie (in French) in which they give an impression of the new North Sails Warp F2009.
